I checked the documentation that came with the boinc-client package (something like SUSEREADME) and followed the instructions: I typed “localhost” and then the password that resides in /var/lib/boinc/ gui_rpc_auth.cfgģ It still said it could not connect with the localhost. ![]() It didn’t work and it reported that it kept trying to connect (when I tried to reconnect through the pulldown-menu in the Managers window). I’m not sure libboinc6 is necessary, but it seemed to do no harm.Ģ I started the BOINC Manager, I saw there was no connection in the manager window and then I was offered with a second window that asked my for a computer and a password. ![]() As far as I can recall, these were the steps I took:ġ First thing I did was installing the following su -c'zypper in boinc-client boinc-client-doc boinc-client-lang boinc-manager boinc-manager-lang libboinc6' Since I removed the packaged version from the repos, I can not reproduce my error. What’s yours? openSUSE 12.3, I presume, with KDE? Gnome? Xfce? Which version? Perhaps you could give the exact error? You can see in my signature the system I’m using.
